Do I need to file a return if I am paying withholding taxes?
No, the payment will create the IT-501 Ohio Withholding Return. However, you will need to file the reconciliation IT-941 and IT-942 return with the Ohio Department of Taxation if you pay the tax electronically.
How can I both file my tax return and pay my taxes electronically?
For Insurance Premium, Motor Vehicle Fuel, Municipal Net Profits, Pass Through Entity Taxes as well as IOLTA use your Federal ID Number. For all other taxes, use the Ohio Account Number or Vendor's License Number that was assigned by the Ohio Department of Taxation or call the Ohio Department of Taxation at 1-888-405-4039.
How do I determine the ninth digit for my ID number?
Commercial Activity Tax: use zero as the 9th digit.
Cigarette Tax: use zero as the 9th digit.

Do the tax due dates change for payments made electronically?
No. You must comply with the due dates established by the Ohio Department of Taxation.
When is my payment due if the due date is on a weekend or holiday?
If the due date falls on a weekend or holiday, the payment is due on the next banking day.
